02Welcome Letter
Welcome,
I’m pleased to share the latest addition to Fitch Ratings’ Credit Journal Series. This entry will focus on the global transportation space, featuring topical commentary and analysis on the intersection of the shipping, aviation and energy sectors, among others.
Global transportation-related sectors have been hit this year by a confluence of factors – from the war in Ukraine, to elevated energy prices, to increasing concern around climate change and the environment.
With a focus on fundamentals and long-term perspectives, our analysts are actively monitoring and providing views on global transportation-related concerns, with 324 total transportation infrastructure issuer ratings, and 47 total corporate transportation issuer ratings.
In this issue, Fitch analysts Scott Zuchorski and Hugh Shim discuss how the transportation sectors (i.e. airports, seaports, toll roads) performed post-pandemic, how outlooks on shipping and airlines have changed since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, and more.
As always, if there is specific research you would like to see from us, please do not hesitate to reach out.
Enjoy your reading!
